The Family Tree
Ruby Parker, Assistant Director of Community Engagement Services at The Family Tree, leads a statewide effort to educate parents, policy makers and professionals about the impact of childhood adversity and lasting effects of child maltreatment. Through these efforts, Ruby has built a learning collaborative of professional trainers who work to spread awareness across the state of Maryland through community presentations. Through her background in public health, Ruby has seen firsthand that adversity early in life, such as child abuse and neglect, can lead to many more health and social problems later in life. Ruby holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Goucher College and a Master of Science in Conflict Management from the University of Baltimore.
